NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Monday, October 4, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers located at 5111 Benito Street, Montclair, CA 91763, and via Zoom video/teleconference (meeting link:, the City Council of the City of Montclair will conduct a public hearing concerning the following:

  • Ordinance No. 21–996 making the following amendments to Title 11 (Zoning and Development) of the Montclair Municipal Code related to Accessory Dwelling Units and Junior Accessory Dwelling Units in Residential Zones: Amending Chapters 11.02 (Definitions), 11.16 (Zone A), 11.18 (Zone R–1), 11.19 (Accessory Structures in Zone R–1), 11.20 (Zone R–2), 11.22 (Zone R–3), and 11.36 (Zone SL); and repealing and replacing Chapter 11.23 (Second Dwelling Units). On June 14, 2021, the Planning Commission recommended the City Council adopt Ordinance No. 21–996 by a 4–0 vote.

INVITATION TO BE HEARD:  All interested persons will be given an opportunity to comment on the above-referenced items at the public hearings and any subsequent public hearings conducted related to the items.  In addition, written comments may be submitted to the City Council prior to the hearings via U.S. Mail to the attention of City Clerk’s Office, City of Montclair, P.O. If you wish to challenge any of the above items in court, the challenge will be limited only to those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearings in written correspondence delivered to the City at or prior to the public hearings as described in this notice.  The City cannot be held responsible for U.S. Mail that is not received prior to the hearings.
