COMMUNITY TESTING EVENTS

In efforts to provide more testing opportunities for San Bernardino County residents, community testing events are being held throughout the county. At these testing events, samples are collected by inserting a swab up the nostril or into the mouth to the throat. These samples are then sent to a laboratory for COVID-19 testing. Events are free of charge and do not require health insurance.

ATTENTION MONTCLAIR BUSINESSES

On May 14, 2020, the County of San Bernardino launched the COVID-Compliant Business Partnership Program to support local small businesses and help ensure ongoing compliance with State and County health orders and direction.

Montclair General Plan Survey

Citizen input and participation during the General Plan update is critical in order to truly reflect the sentiment and desires of the community.  The General Plan plays a vital role in shaping the community and affects every resident and business owner in the way they live or work.  As such, the City of Montclair is interested in the opinions and feedback from residents and businesses, and encourages individuals to participate in the Montclair General Plan Survey.

What is a General Plan?

A General Plan serves as a basis for decisions that affect all aspects of our daily lives such as parks, neighborhoods, recreation, community facilities, transportation, the environment, public health and safety, and education.  A General Plan is a strategic and long term document identifying goals and polices that guide and direct the City in terms of implementing policies, programs, and resources.

Adoption of a General Plan fulfills the requirements of California Government Code Section 65300 et seq. requiring local preparation and adoption of General Plans.

The General Plan addresses seven mandatory elements of the California Government Code, which are land use, circulation, housing, open space, conservation, safety, and noise.

Why Update the General Plan?

A General Plan is the link between the expressed values and visions of the community and the daily decision–making that affect the physical, social, environmental, and economic character of Montclair.  Over time the values and visions of a community may change and a General Plan must be able to adapt to such changes.

The Montclair General Plan last went through a revision in 1999.  Although parts of the plan have been updated since then, it is necessary for the City of Montclair to once again look into its future and decide what it wants to be, the direction it wants to take, and how it will get there.

Montclair General Plan Website

The City of Montclair in conjunction with its General Plan consultant Rangwala Associates have developed a General Plan Website to better provide residents and the business community with up–to–date information regarding the General Plan update.  To access the Montclair General Plan please click the following link: https://www.montclairplan.org/
