To obtain a grading permit, submit a set of grading plans to the Engineering Department following the city guidelines and standards and pay the fees. When a set of grading plans passes the Engineering plan check process, they’ll be signed and approved by the City Engineer. Instructions on how to submit plans can be found at this link. The designated contact will be directly notified when they’re approved to seek permits with the Building Department. The cost of the Grading permit will vary and be based on the finalized set of plans. A grading permit will not be issued until the City Engineer approves it.
