History

On July 16, 2024, the Ontario City Council approved the Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) to establish the West-End Animal Services Agency (WEASA), DBA Animal Resource Center of the Inland Empire (ARC).

For several years, the City of Ontario has contracted with the Inland Valley Humane Society (IVHS) to provide animal services. This contract will end on June 30, 2025.

As a result, the City of Ontario partnered with the City of Chino to establish WEAS, which will be a full-service animal services agency providing both animal control and sheltering services to member agencies.
