Senate Bill 978/ CPC 13650

Senate Bill 978 added to the California Penal Code Section 13650, which requires "Commencing on January 1, 2020, the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training and each local law enforcement agency shall conspicuously post on their Internet Web sites all current standards, policies, practices, operating procedures, and education and training materials that would otherwise be available to the public if a request was made pursuant to the California Public Records Act (Chapter 3.5 (commencing with Section 6250) of Division 7 of Title 1 of the Government Code)."

The following information has been made available in compliance with the above provisions.  Please note, in addition to our own content, the Montclair Police Department utilizes outside sources for training, education and training materials,  and procedures related to outside systems not maintained by the Department, including but not limited to the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, The California Department of Justice, the United States Department of Justice, the California Highway Patrol, the California Office of Traffic Safety, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, other California police and Sheriff's agencies' training courses, and various non-government training courses.  Content from these sources may be located from their respective websites or by contacting them directly (if applicable).

Any Department changes or updates to the linked documents will be updated in a reasonable time period.
